Our Plans
Each year we strive to adventure both as a family, and as a couple, during the spring, fall, and summer. We often do not find ourselves leaving during the winter, but we are open to it!
What’s Next?!
This summer we are taking out very first cruise, family style! We decided to play it safe with the kids and are only going to the Bahamas aboard the Freedom of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.
Day 1 – Leaving Miami, FL and traveling at sea.
Day 2 – Arriving at CoCoKey, a private island with plentiful waterslides, activities and FREE FOOD. This was a definite for our three bottomless pits, I mean teens and preteen (15, 13, 11).
Day 3 – Arriving at Nassau and taking a ferry to Pearl Island. We will snorkel, beach, kayak, and venture around the island looking for WILD PIGS. This is definitely not an activity we would do back home (in the Deep South), as wild pigs are incredibly dangerous. Apparently these “wild” pigs are friendly and tamed by the ongoing tourists.
Day 4: At sea traveling back to Miami.
We (adults) really wanted to go to Mexico and visit the Mayan Ruins, but were not yet comfortable with the environment and traveling with three kids. Perhaps after this one we can venture on a historic cruise. In order to cruise there, we will need to travel through Carnival Cruise, whereas we chose to start with Royal Caribbean.
If you have any suggestions to add to our current itinerary, let us know!
Coming in 2025…
One of my dearest friends is getting married…in GREECE!!! We have two years to prepare a family vacation to the mother country. Thankfully our vacation this year (cruise to the Bahamas), will prepare us with passports and international waters – literally.
We will be in Veria, Greece, so the northern portion, and completely open to family-friendly ideas of travel, exploration, and of course, FOOD!
